A trip to Barnes village by the Thames

May 26, 2017

This is dreamy London at it’s best!  Postcard pretty even on dreary February days.  A proper little village atmosphere attracting the wealthy set and upwardly mobile and savvy young families to live (it has the top area state school here which means free great schooling until 11). On a soggy day, an army of hunter wellies are out in force as families brave those few drops of rain to head down to the pond; the centrepiece of the village…

Kew Gardens London – Orchid Festival

April 4, 2017

It’s a must to experience this famous botanical garden housed in the South West corner of London.  I am blessed to live close by but others can easily reach the gardens via tube.  I’ve recently become a friend of Kew which allows access before anyone else in the summer and plenty of other perks.  I recently experienced the tree top walk in the gardens and look forward to all the summer evening concerts. The recent 22nd annual Orchid…

Autumn walk around Kensington Palace as they prepare for Xmas

November 23, 2016 Kensington Gardens

London has eight amazing Royal Parks.  My choice on a cold, crisp, sunny autumn day was Kensington Palace in Kensington Gardens; very close to where I first lived and worked in London.  This Palace is always enchanting and they are currently preparing for some super events starting with decorating the palace for The Victorian Christmas exhibition (Queen Victoria’s childhood home)  You will find lantern-making, tasty talks and carols tailored for tiny explorers, families and anyone else who…

A little head space at Petersham Nurseries by the Thames

September 9, 2016

Across a meadow near the Thames and down a dreamy little path to the village of Petersham lies Petersham Nurseries………a well loved spot by locals and a celebrated find by all else. This exquisite nursery is dressed up beautifully according to the season to charm and delight even the most expert of gardeners. I love to roam around and plan my garden; occasionally buying the odd plant (it’s not the cheapest). The home area is stuffed full of…
